About Good Karma
Good Karma is about fighting the good fight: do good, be good and feel great. Good Karma started as a social impact initiative with the slogan: “Good for farmers, good for you”. When business as we know it has turned into an exercise of how to sacrifice the eco-system in order to generate money, Good Karma asks itself: how can a profitable business of today be a contribution to the eco-system? Hence, Good Karma set out on a journey challenging itself to create positive impact in the three areas that matters: Health, Sustainability and Social Impact.
- People are often unreasonable, illogical and self centered;
Forgive them anyway. - If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway. - If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway. - If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway. - What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway. - If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway. - The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway. - Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway. - You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and your God;
It was never between you and them anyway.
1 | HEALTH - NUTRITION DENSE AND ORGANIC
A human cell can only function optimally if it has all the building blocks it needs. Industrialised farming using chemical fertilizers and pesticides have created demineralized farmlands and a food supply deprived of essential minerals. And, poisoned soils can turn even “superfoods” into a burden for your cells. This is where Good Karma as a brand fights the good fight for human health making it easy to get your dose of Daily Sea Moss. Here is how Good Karma provides nutrient dense organic food to humanity:
- Seaweed is one of the most nutrient dense things we found on this earth. There is one place on Earth that still contains all the minerals and trace elements we need: the ocean. The ocean is the nurturing mother of all life. Unlike land plants, seaweed does not rely on roots; instead, it absorbs its nutrients directly from seawater, concentrating these elements within itself. Hence, Sea Moss have an extremely broad spectrum of micronutrients and most of all minerals and trace minerals and can play an important role of supplementing the nutrient building blocks we lack from land based food. With Sea Moss impacting your cells with a broader spectrum of micronutrients, the cells can perform better whether it is in muscles, brain, skin, organs or skeleton.
- By innovating products and making 100% natural and organic sea moss products easy for consumption on a daily basis Good Karma enables people easy access to “Daily Sea Moss”.
- Good Karma test for heavy metals regularly as well as managing location and farming methods to optimise nutrition and minimise risk.
- Good Karma reduce or eliminate micro plastics keeping track of latest research on farmer techniques and production methods to reduce or eliminate micro plastics.
- Good Karma seaweed farms uses no fertilisers, no pesticides, no chemicals and aims to use no, or as little as possible fossil fuels in the actual production.
2 | SUSTAINABILITY - ORGANIC REGENERATIVE FARMING
Seaweed farming is considered to be one of few farming practices that is actually a contribution to the eco-system. Good Karma Seaweed farms are located on rocky sandy shallow waters adding oxygen production, carbon capture and acts as new habitats for fishes.
When the rest of the world is chasing unicorns with exponential growth, Good Karma relaxes into organic growth.
- Since nothing in nature grows exponentially, any business that grows at that rate sacrifices our eco-system in order to achieve financial goals.
- A nature driven business does not sacrifice nature while growing, hence has the potential of generating “forever profits” for all generations to come.
- Since seaweed grows 5-30 times faster than anything on land, Good Karma is the unicorn of nature driven businesses.
Good Karma collaborates with the global program Oceans2050 and Chile’s leading regenerative seaweed farming organisation Huiroregenerativo to:
- introduce IMTA systems to Indonesia. IMTA systems can be described as the permaculture of the ocean, a methodology humanity only has started to explore. Read more about the GK Seaweed Farming Association.
- Sharing latest research with seaweed farmers on how to mitigate and reduce microplastics and heavy metals.
- Share research and best practice with seaweed farmers on how to retain the heritage DNA strains as well as refine DNA strains for more reliable seaweed farming.
Good Karma also actively contributes to the innovation and marketing of:
- Bioplastics,
- Bio-fuels
- Nutritional Cosmetics.
3 | SOCIAL IMPACT - FARMER FAIRNESS
The farmers are the unsung heroes of any society. Good Karma started as a social impact program for seaweed farmers trapped at the bottom of a global supply chain. By creating new products from seaweed, reducing middle men, and providing a revenue-share model for the farmers, the farmers can move up the value chain towards fair compensation. This separates Good Karma from perhaps all other Sea Moss products.
Good Karma collaborates with the global program Oceans2050 in connecting Seaweed farmers to the international Blue Carbon Credit market and with the leading Chilean institute for regenerative seaweed farming Huiroregenerativo to :
- develop the Seaweed species used
- farming methods
- processing efficiency.
